On December 30, I was interviewed by Jennifer Blome and Wendy Wiese on The Jennifer and Wendy Show on KTRS-AM here in St. Louis. It was lots of fun and we covered a lot of topics, including whether people are born organized (or disorganized), the difficulty of parting with sentimental items, my advice for decluttering and organizing, Marie Kondo, and the benefits of living with fewer clothes.

I enjoy coloring in grown-up coloring books and I have blogged here about how I organize my colored pencils and how I organize my coloring Sharpies. I was tickled pink when I was contacted by the editor of The Coloring Studio a quarterly publication from Stampington & Company that’s part magazine, part coloring book, about reprinting some of the information I shared on my blog. The result is an articled called How to Organize Your Coloring Tools.

Last week, iVillage.com had an article, Clutter-Free and Awesome: 12 Pretty Organized Spaces, in which the writer solicited photos of favorite spaces in the homes of organizing professionals. I found it highly enjoyable to gaze at the photos and read the explanations.

I was interviewed for an article that appears in the March 2011 issue of Energy Times a glossy magazine that is distributed at health food stores around the country. The article, called Organized Calm: Clearing clutter can make you more efficient, and more peaceful appears in the magazine’s “Holistic Healing” section, which somehow tickles me. If you want to pick up an issue, it’s the one with Raquel Welch on the cover.

Just yesterday, I was interviewed by the fabulous journalist Michelle Rafter for an article called Paper Chase: Should It Stay or Should It Go? about how long to keep certain types of records. It’s already up on the website Second Act, which aimed at people who are (like me) 40 years or over.

I’m lucky enough to have an accountability partner in another state. She’s Betty Huotari, of Logical Placement, the president of the Southeast Michigan chapter of NAPO. We’d met at the NAPO national conference in the past, and this year, when the audience was encouraged by speaker Lisa Montanaro to have accountability partners to keep each other on track with our goals, Betty approached me about working together. We talk once a month or so and it’s been great.

The current issue of Arthritis Today, the consumer health publication (available on newsstands) that’s published by the Arthritis Foundation, includes an article by Sharon Ann Waldrop, on six tips to control clutter. In addition to two from me, it features tips by several professional organizers, including Jill Graham of Operation Organize! in Arizona and Rosemary Chieppo of Born to Organize in Connecticut.
