After careful trial and error, I have found what for me is the perfect black pen for bullet journaling. It is the Pilot Frixion Synergy 05 clicker erasable pen with black gel ink. There’s so much to love: It’s an extra-fine point pen that writes smoothly. It’s completely erasable—it uses a special thermosensitive ink that disappears when rubbed with the pen’s “eraser” because of the heat generated by the friction. (There’s no eraser dust!) This pen comes in colors, though I primarily use black. And it’s refillable.

Earlier this week, I blogged about my love for my Bullet Journal. When I decided to start using this method, I did a little research on supplies and how to organize them so they’re handy for daily use. This is what I settled on. It’s working out well!

Today is my fifth and final tiny project of this challenge. It’s the top drawer of the desk we call our household desk. I declutter it every decade or so. And today when I opened it I realized it was ripe for a tiny project challenge.

Today, I spent 20 minutes on my main office-supply closet. My office is in a spare bedroom. I took the sliding doors off the closet and filled the closet with shelving to store office supplies. Since those supplies are so visible, I don’t let the closet contents get too crazy before decluttering an organizing.

I took a stroll through IKEA the other day, just looking for inspiration and ideas for organizing. I love their home organizing department. But I also love using items intended for other purposes to organize my stuff.

I gave a talk about organizing and decluttering last Thursday and I ended the talk by suggesting that people shop mindfully. I advised the audience to ask themselves the following questions before buying something:

A couple of years ago at the NAPO conference I was given a small package of Filertek dry-erase hanging file-folder labels. To be honest, these reusable tabs seemed to solve a problem I didn’t have and I brought home the sample and then never used it.

One of the exhibitors at last week’s NAPO conference was Office Candy, a company that distributes cut and fun office supplies. What’s not to love about that?

The good folks at OXO®, who for years have made the Good Grips line of household tools (I love my OXO salad spinner!) have expanded into the office tools market. It’s pretty cool.
