A note to my future self

I transferred my various sized Ziploc® bags from their boxes to the new organizers. The quart-size bags were in a plastic bin, because I’d bought a large box of them that was too big for the drawer. As I pulled the bags out of their little bin, I saw this note, in my handwriting, stuck to the bottom. It says, kit There are more quart-size bags in the downstairs dining room.

Today’s tiny project is a high-impact five-minute fix. I dealt with my snack chips. When I decided how to store my chips in my new kitchen back in 2016, I underestimated the number of different chips I’d like to have on hand. So, of course, it got very unruly up in there.

Kitchen Stickin' makes labeling easy

Kitchen Stickin’ is a simple product: It’s a dispenser for painter’s tape with a place to hold a marker. It comes with Command strips so you can easily adhere it to a cabinet or the refrigerator so that you always have an easy way to label something. (It comes with the tape and a marker!)

Our new refrigerator, an LG with a bottom freezer drawer, was delivered yesterday. Today I had the pleasure of organizing it! I’ve never had a freezer drawer before (nor organized one for a client), so it was a fun challenge.

Lessons learned from our kitchen renovation

Last week, I shared photos of our lovely new kitchen. We’re not quite finished…there’s the tiniest bit of finish work that needs to be finished as soon as we get the supplies from the cabinet company. But for all intents and purposes, it’s done. Happiness is a new kitchen

After only 24 years of living with an 80s-era kitchen in our 1908 home, my husband and I had our kitchen remodeled this spring. It wasn’t strictly necessary. (In fact, this Huffington Post piece on not needing a new kitchen really resonated with me.) But it seemed time. And, of course, once it was done we wondered why we waited. We absolutely love it.
