I wrote this post four years ago, but I can still feel the thrill of letting go of knitting projects I didn’t want to finish and either reclaiming or giving away the yarn. Have I finished the projects I intended to finish? I don’t know! Time for another WIP decluttering session.
In knitting, WIP stands for Work-In-Progress. In my knitting reality, almost all my WIPS are actually stalled and/or abandoned projects. They languish in (mostly hand knit) bags in my knitting area creating clutter and a little bit of stress. That area was like a graveyard for knitting dreams.

I love pens. And I love doing hand lettering. The combination of those two loves has led to quite a collection. I primarily do my lettering in the living room, on a clipboard while watching TV or, if I’m doing something that requires more concentration, at the dining room table. So the bulk of my pens (the ones that aren’t on my office desk) are stored in the living room.

Last year I started a new hobby: Hand lettering. It was borne of my efforts to send postcards to voters for the midterm elections. Somewhere along the road of hand writing over 1,000 postcards I decided to try to learn some techniques to make the process more interesting (and to make the cards more eye-catching).

Unclutterer is one of my favorite organizing blogs. I’ve gotten to know Erin Doland, Unclutterer’s editor, over the years (love that woman!) and am always thrilled when she accepts a blog post from me.
