Earlier this year I did a cable clean out, letting go of cables that I no longer need. It was a huge improvement, but it didn’t feel easy enough for me to access what I needed.

The surge protector in my office failed last week and I had to buy a new one. That surge protector was under my desk, out of sight. I don’t usually pay much attention to it, so when I focused on the situation I was kind of horrified.

Keeping your devices fully charged while traveling can be a challenge. I’m on a trip to visit family in Walla Walla, Washington, and I find that I did not pack all the right charging cables. I’ve had a good system for some years, involving a packing cube that I keep stocked with my travel cords, which are separated using labeled binder clips

Phone cables are vital items, used daily, but they’re such a pain to store, aren’t they? A couple of weeks ago, I revamped how I store my ear buds and phone charging cable at my desk, and I’ve been so happy. I thought I’d share here.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a new computer. I’m now the happy owner of a 13-inch mid-2014 MacBook Pro with Retina Display. It replaced a 13-inch mid-2011 MacBook pro that had become sluggish.
One challenge that the modern gadget-using family must contend with is the abundance of charging cables necessary to keep those devices up and running. There’s a sad lack of standardization and you may have as many different kinds of cables as you have different kinds of devices.
Cords. They have been the bane of my organizational existence for quite some time. They’re a necessary evil, but they can be so unsightly.

In my office I’m cord challenged. Like most people I have loads of electronic devices and their cables snake all over the place. I keep promising myself that one of these days I’m going to focus on the problem and come up with a great solution.
