Meagan Francis, a writer I’m acquainted with through the online community Freelance Success, is a mother of five. In her blog, The Happiest Mom she provides insights from her journey to happiness in motherhood.
Yesterday, she posted about her cleaning routine. When your family is that big, routines are the key to keeping chaos at bay without making cleaning a full-time occupation. I loved her post, 10 Ways I Keep My House Neat…Without Spending All Day Cleaning and thought I’d share it with you.
It’s full of the sound principles I tell my clients, like the power of routines and doing a little bit (5 minutes!) at a time. Her mindful shopping and joyous decluttering advice is fabulous. And I love that she talks about her house being “clean enough.” That absence of perfectionism might be the key to her happiness!

I totally agree that a few minutes cleaning here and there can make a big difference. I have started doing a 10 minute <a href=“http://goldenshine.com” title=“San Diego Cleaning Services”>deep cleaning</a> Knowing that I’m working through the drawers and cupboards one at a time makes me feel good.

I just had a read through that article. You know it’s one of the biggest things I’m currently struggling with. I’m a huge procrastinator and cleaning on the go is something I need to make into a habit! thanks for sharing

“Do it now” is probably the best and most helpful mentality to keep a home clean. I’ve found that once you adopt it and put it into practice it becomes easier each day. Awesome post to get a house clean…or at least “clean enough”

I run a cleaning service and I struggle all the time with procrastination too. I’ll definitely try these tips and see if they help.

Procrastination is the biggest killer in anyone’s life. Prioritising your day to tackle a small cleaning task goes a long way in keeping on top of things.

Thanks for the shout-out! The way I see it, ANYONE can find five minutes a day to clean. And when you put together five minutes here and there, it really adds up.
