Last June on the blog

22 June 2010

Inspired by my friend, Margaret Lukens, I’ve decided to point out some of my favorite from this blog from Junes gone by. June is usually a pretty busy blogging month for me (though not so much this year). I had so many posts to choose from that I’m going to split the recap into two posts.

Here are my favorite posts from June 2009. Tomorrow I’ll post my faves from June 2008.

  • A timer is a great tool for focusing. When I’m doing something particularly mindless, I’ll use an iTunes playlist as a timer. (I stop when the music’s up.) At the risk of embarrassing myself, I revealed my Clean the Office for 30 Minutes playlist.
  • Even professional organizers need professional help. I hired an organizer to help my husband and me declutter my basement. It was an amazing experience. (This post comes complete with embarrassing before photos.)
  • Inbox Zero is an elusive goal. But I’ve achieved a daily Inbox 15 (or fewer) thanks to a process for my inbox I developed last year coupled with a great accountability partner. I’ve truly achieved email liberation.
  • Embarrassment seems to be a recurring theme in June. Since I somehow never seem to tire of posting embarrassing before pictures, here’s a post about how I whipped my office into shape in only 30 minutes.

It’s incredibly reassuring to know that even organizers need organizers. :) By the way, “It’s A New Day” is on my workout playlist and “Little Red Corvette” is on my dance around the house and hope that nobody is looking through the window list.

Thanks for your comment, ‘Drea. Makes me want to look through your window while you’re dancing around the house! (And I mean that in the non-creepiest way possible.)
